Nürburgring Drift Cup 2018 Round 5 – CHAMPION!

11 October 2018

In the weekend of October 5th-7th, the fifth and last round of the Nürburgring Drift Cup was held. Prior to the fourth round of the Nürburgring Drift Cup, Bas was in a comfortable first place, but after his engine failed right before the qualification run, it threatened to become a tough weekend. Thankfully, Bas could borrow another participant’s car, which allowed him to qualify in 11th place.

However, Bas’s starting point for the last weekend of the Nürburgring Drift Cup did become somewhat less comfortable because of this. The head start on the number two of the PRO Series championship had decreased and the necessity to perform optimally became a must-have.

The weekend started well, Bas had great training sessions and qualified in second place with a run of 92 points, a fantastic result to start the weekend with. Bad immediately qualified for the top 16 battles, where he eventually ended up second place in the race. Naturally, this was already a great result, but it was also immediately enough to win the championship in the PRO Series. A fantastic result in Bas’s still burgeoning career.

With this amazing result to his name, the future is regarded with a lot of faith and ambition. With this win, Bas has immediately strengthened his position and will participate to win in the upcoming season as well!
