“In 2002 I introduced competitive drifting here in the Netherlands as how it nowadays is.”
“Drifting is my pride and joy.”
My career in the motorsports started in 1992 with the Alfa Romeo Giulia cup. These are rear-wheel drive cars without any road holding. This formed the basis for my drifting career.
For nearly a decade I was able to improve my drifting skills by competing in many Race and Rally Championships through Europe. I’m also working as an Instructor from 1993 until now, for Rensportschool Zandvoort. I’d like to teach future drivers and inspire them with my drifting skills and experiences.
In the past 15 years I have been deployed at several fronts
in the European drift scene. I gained experience in organizing, judging, escorting and team managing. In 2002 I introduced competitive drifting here in the Netherlands as how it nowadays is.
I organized the NL Drift Series for 8 years. From 2002 to 2012 I also competed in multiple Drift Championships through Europe. A huge part of my proceedings consists of judging during drift challenges.
Thus for 7 years I have been Head of the Jury in a leading European Drift Championship (Drift Allstars, the current Drift GP). I’m trying to judge as much as possible for several drifting organizations in Europe. If my schedule allows, of course.
Because of my work activities at Race Planet, at the Zandvoort circuit, I ran into Bas Mul and that’s how we’ve met. Soon we found out our common interest in drifting. At the end of 2015 we decided to corporate to fulfill Bas’ ambitions in drifting. This is how we came up with MPO Drift. A new drift team has born!
